On our last trip to Europe we had planned on spending three nights in Barcelona. As travel planner in chief in our family, I’m always making mental notes (and these days, increasingly, Apple Notes) on things I stumble upon online or in the New York Times or other print publications I peruse. The Hotel Praktik Bakery was one of those finds. It immediately caught my eye due to the novel fact of having a working bakery sited in and amongst the main lobby and public spaces of the hotel on the ground floor. Imagine walking into your hotel and being greeted with irresistible fresh baked pastries, croissants, bostock and more every day - all day. We did just that.
The hotel also ticked off several other important boxes for us:
- A reasonable nightly rate for Barcelona
- Fantastic location - just two blocks away from Casa Mila and the Metro
- Better than average wifi
- Pleasant rooms with thoughtful design touches
Those three nights and days in Barcelona were pure magic. This hotel played no small part in our fond memories of that trip.
